The Query Email

Please put your legal name and the working title of your manuscript in the subject line of your email.

Please focus on your reader.

Be sure to mention the word count and the genre or category of literature that you’re submitting.
The Synopsis
This is your best opportunity to sell us on your manuscript. The synopsis will show, rather than tell, whether or not you have an intriguing concept and a well-developed storyline.

If you write a one-page summary of your story that will work fine with us.

Attach this document to your query email as an MS Word file.
The Manuscript

Attach the final draft of your completed work to your email as an MS Word file.

We don’t want to see sample chapters, and we don’t want to see an early draft that does not show us your writing at its very best.

NONFICTION WRITERS

Who are you? What’s your background? What qualifies you to write about this topic. What kind of education do you have—either through academic channels or through life experience? If you have any prior publications, you can mention them here.
